Maria Murphy
Maria Murphy has lived in Dunboyne for the past ten years. She is married to Sean and has three children. She worked in the telecommunications industry, initially in the Department of P&T and later in Eircom. Maria is heavily involved in the community and in education. She is a former member of the board of Dunboyne Junior Primary School and is currently the secretary of the St. Peter’s College Parent Association. She was a director of the National Parents Council-Primary for six years. She was a director of the National Council for Curriculum & Assessment (NCCA) and has also served as chairperson of the Dunboyne Combined Residents Association.

Community Cohesion
- Provide a 24/7 Garda Station for Dunboyne and additional community policing to connect positively with local youth.
Education
- Improve educational facilities and fast track the school building programme to eliminate the use of prefabs.
Planning
- Prioritise the taking in charge of housing estates in Dunboyne, many of which are now over 10 years old.
Environmental
- Introduce full-scale recycling facilities
- Deal decisively with illegal dumping on rural roads.
Infrastructure
- Improve road safety, parking, footpaths, lighting & access to public transport.
Social Amenities
- Improve facilities for young and old and boost funding for local clubs.
Enterprise
- Identify and attract new investment to Dunboyne to counter rising unemployment.
