I am deeply committed to representing your concerns at the highest possible level and in the most forceful and effective way possible.

I am a full-time public representative and Meath County Councillor, and my experience in this capacity has helped me understand the challenges of Public Service. I know how frustrating it can be when desperately needed change does not come quickly enough. Making a tangible positive difference to the everyday lives of my constituents has been the most rewarding achievement of my working life.

Speaking of which, I wasn’t always a Councillor. Previously I worked my way up in the private sector to become a Director of the Horizon Technology Group, before leaving to establish my own company. I believe that the skills which enabled me to be successful in business will come in very useful in dealing ruthlessly with the difficulties our country faces.

In addition to my Council duties, I involve myself as much as possible in community affairs as Chairperson the Joint Policing Committee for Meath, I sit on the Boards of Management of three educational institutions: Ratoath College, Adult Education VEC and Gaelscoil RathTo, as well as the Special Education Group of the National Parents’ Council; I am founder and Chairperson of Ratoath Meals on Wheels and pioneer of Ratoath BMX club, our new local biking initiative. Whatever time I have outside of my work as a public representative I spend with my supportive husband Declan, and our four wonderful children.

My chief concerns nationally are job creation and reform, as I believe that both of these areas will be of central importance in stimulating the economic recovery we so desperately need. For too long Meath has been overlooked by IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland for foreign investment. If elected, I pledge to work to bring about an end to this neglect. Furthermore, I am committed to ensuring that County Meath benefits from an appropriate percentage of the NewEra jobs that will be created by Fine Gael in government.

This year Meath is host to 2 major events – The Solheim Cup and The Kings of Leon Concert. They will bring over 200,000 new customers to Meath this year. I believe stimulating new interest in the tourism industry and developing new plans for marketing Ireland both within the country and abroad as an attractive holiday destination will provide the economy with a shot in the arm in the short term, but will also provide a strong platform for immense potential growth in the future

Farming is of crucial importance to Meath and to our economy nationally, but Fianna Fail consistently neglected the farming community and failed to encourage the growth of this valuable sector, preferring instead to court the interests of big retailers, many of whom have no commitment to sourcing locally, and no loyalty to the Irish economy. So my promise is that once in office I will tirelessly promote the interests of the agri-food sector, as I firmly believe that the farming industry has almost limitless potential to stimulate growth and employment on a local and national level.
